Here are a few tips as to why it’s important to have an expert in your corner negotiating and making sure the transaction goes smoothly.

  1. Always conduct a home inspection…yes, even new construction. This will ensure the home was constructed properly and no defects were hidden. It can also provide valuable information about the home’s energy efficiency!
  2. Understand what is considered an upgrade. “Upgrades” will vary from builder to builder. One may include sod in your backyard while the other will not. Navigating upgrades and finishes can be a journey.
  3. Appliances are another item that can vary from builder to builder. Some builders may include a full package, others may just include a dishwasher and oven.
